About Me

Hello!

I’m Kendra (she/they).

My ancestry is Eastern European (Latvian, Polish, Russian) and Scottish. My maternal line experienced displacement from Latvia during WWII and immigrated to Turtle Island (Canada) as a result. My paternal line are multi-generational Scottish settlers to Canada. I immigrated to Australia at age 7 - the youngest child of professional parents.

I currently live on unceded Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country (Naarm) and grew up on Jagera & Turrbal country (Meanjin), as well as Treaty 6 territory (Saskatoon). I have 8 years of experience working in sexual violence, domestic + family violence and LGBTIQ+ mental health and wellbeing.

I have my own lived experience of migration, queerness, family violence and mental distress - which deeply impact my work. I draw on these identities and experiences to curate trainings, workshops and sessions that are honest, curious and tender.

My practice centers the values, visions and critiques of intersectional feminism, abolition and somatic healing. I understand violence, both interpersonal (including sexual and family violence) and state violence, as stemming from the broader contexts of colonial modernity, racial capitalism and carceral logics.

My approach to healing seeks to cultivate an ethics of relationality, care, and intimacy while actively attending to dynamics of power and privilege. I believe that reconnecting with our bodies and erotic selves is vital to ending systems of domination and supremacy. I also believe that personal transformation and collective liberation are profoundly spiritual processes. Ultimately, I hope to resource individuals and communities to find pleasure, connection and belonging.
